The Detail That Matters

Embroidery & hand-work
that lifts a garment.

Embroidery is where a designer piece becomes unforgettable. From a delicately worked neckline to a fully embellished bridal lehenga, we bring embroidery and hand-work to life in Kolkata — working with skilled craft partners so whatever you imagine, we help you make it.

The Detail That Matters

Where a garment becomes couture

Two garments can use the same fabric and the same cut, yet one stops you across a room and the other doesn't. The difference is almost always the embroidery and hand-work — the thread, the zardozi, the beading, the finish that catches the light.

At Masterdaa, embellishment isn't an add-on — it's central to how we make designer wear. Working alongside skilled craft partners — including in Bengal's own traditions like Kantha —, we can take a garment from plain to extraordinary: a lightly worked everyday blouse, or a bridal lehenga carrying weeks of hand-embroidery. Whatever you picture, our job is to help you make it — one team, from idea to finished piece.

Bring a reference, a motif, or just a feeling for what you want, and we'll guide you on technique, density and cost — honestly, so you get the look you want at a price that makes sense.

Techniques

Types of embroidery & hand-work

Zardozi & Zari Work

Traditional metallic gold and silver thread work — regal, textured and ideal for bridal lehengas, blouses and dupattas.

Aari Work

Fine hook embroidery that creates delicate chain-stitch patterns at speed — beautiful for all-over floral and vine motifs.

Thread & Resham Work

Coloured silk-thread embroidery, from subtle tonal work to bold, vivid motifs — versatile across everyday and occasion wear.

Sequin & Bead Work

Sequins, cutdana, beads and stones for shimmer and light — from a lightly scattered finish to a fully embellished surface.

Mirror & Gota Work

Mirror (shisha) and gota-patti for a festive, folk-rich look — a favourite for sangeet, mehndi and celebration outfits.

Cutwork & Appliqué

Shaped fabric appliqué, cutwork edges and patchwork for structured, contemporary designer detailing.

Good to Know

Your questions, answered

What types of embroidery can you do?

We work across all the major techniques — zardozi and zari, aari, thread and resham work, sequin and bead work, mirror and gota, cutwork and appliqué. Working with our craft partners, we can match almost any reference you bring, from subtle tonal work to full bridal embellishment.

Can you do embroidery on a garment I already own?

Yes. Bring an existing blouse, lehenga, saree or gown and we can add or restore embroidery — a new worked neckline, embellished sleeves, or reviving faded work on an heirloom piece. We'll advise honestly on what will look best.

Do you take on heavy bridal embroidery?

Yes. Bridal lehengas and blouses with dense hand-work are among the most rewarding pieces we make. These take time — often several weeks — so it's best to begin well ahead of your date. We'll give you a clear timeline upfront.

How is embroidery priced?

Embroidery is priced by technique and density — how much of the surface is worked, and how intricate. A lightly worked neckline and a fully embellished bridal panel are very different. Show us your reference and we'll quote it clearly, with no surprises.

Can you match a design from a photo or reference?

Yes. A clear photo, a Pinterest reference or a sketch all work. Part of our craft is reading a reference and reproducing its spirit — motif, density and finish — on your garment and fabric.

Do you only embroider, or can you make the whole garment?

Both — and that's our advantage. We can design and stitch the garment and carry out the embroidery as one coordinated project, so you deal with a single team from idea to finished piece rather than running between a tailor and a separate embroidery karigar.
